Steve Cofer | Founder

Steve Cofer, Uplevel Energy Founder, has 23 years’ experience providing targeted and specialized expertise in the energy and decarbonization sector. With a comprehensive background, Mr. Cofer has successfully led hundreds of impact and process evaluations across diverse programs. His experience and work bookend energy and decarbonization programs and he provides technical and analytical support in evaluation, research, and planning activities. Acknowledged as a thought leader within the evaluation community, Mr. Cofer has actively contributed to multiple evaluation working groups, where he provided regulatory and evaluation advice to commission staff and their participating utilities and stakeholders.

Prior to founding Uplevel Energy, Mr. Cofer held a leadership position in Cadmus Energy Services Division’s evaluation and measurement practice. During his tenure at Cadmus, he was responsible for strategy and business development, team and staff leadership, and provided consulting services covering a broad spectrum of evaluation, energy efficiency, distributed energy, and decarbonization topics.
